What the retainer buys

• Up to twelve case consultation calls per year. Deposition prep, trial prep, summary judgment briefing support.
• Written CV-locked expert disclosure for any case the firm wishes to designate Mr. Hillman as testifying expert.
• Direct line for AKS, Stark, FCA, and OIG enforcement diligence on prospective cases.
• Pre-trial mock examination from the operator side of the table.

Terms

Retainer

$7,500 per month, paid quarterly in advance.

Term

Twelve months, renewable.

Cap

Six firms total at any time. Open slot count published above.

Case testimony

Billed separately at standard expert witness rate. Retainer fee credits the first two days of testimony per case.

Conflict screening

Mandatory at engagement. No simultaneous representation of defendant and plaintiff sides in the same matter.

Why this retainer model

Plaintiff firms placing healthcare fraud experts run into a structural problem. The bench is full of clinicians who never operated and operators who never testified. The expert who has operated inside FDA-regulated industries and can talk to a jury without academic distance is rare and the retainer market for that expert does not exist.
